“We are so excited that a creative force like Papercutz is releasing our story. We hope to reach as many readers as possible. This is our first collaboration. It is weird to work with someone you live with, so drawing and ideas were passed back and forth during road trips, dinners, right before a movie, or when we woke up in the morning. We wanted to write a mystery that had elements of the supernatural, and Ricardo had told me he really wanted to draw lighthouses. When I stumbled across the figure of the woman lighthouse keeper in a history of American lighthouses, I knew that it was what the story would be about and everything grew from there. I hope that this reminds us all that women have been doing remarkable things for centuries, way before the modern concept of feminism was born.”
