Talk about the mouse that roared! GERONIMO STILTON has been a worldwide publishing phenomenon with over 88 million chapter books sold in over 40 countries. So it should come as no surprise that the “gentlemouse time-traveler” has become a sales powerhouse in the graphic novel market as well.All-ages comics publisher Papercutz has produced 13 volumes starring the intrepid adventurer and another 3 volumes featuring his equally genteel sister THEA STILTON (and her students). Sales of the latest book, THEA STILTON #3: “The Treasure of the Viking Ship” recently pushed the publisher passed the million mark in total units sold.

“GERONIMO STILTON is a dream title for any publisher,” explained Papercutz Publisher Terry Nantier. “The stories and artwork are top-notch, parents and teachers love the characters and the educational content of the books, and kids just can’t get enough of the residents of New Mouse City and their adventures. I also love that the popularity of the franchise has been so publishing-driven. The success of GERONIMO STILTON, especially here in the US, is entirely attributable to kids’ love of reading and sharing great adventure stories with their friends and peers.”

Papercutz Editor-in Chief Jim Salicrup believes that the diversity of the characters and the versatility of the series’ central story elements are also behind its incredible popularity. “The great thing about the GERONIMO STILTON characters is that they are equally appealing to boys and girls and to a variety of age groups,” Salicrup explained. “There’s nothing to prevent a reader coming in to the series at any point. And the constantly changing settings, whether it’s Columbus’ sailing ships or the Lunar Lander, provide so many opportunities for new readers to come on board. I’ve heard many stories from parents about how a particular volume’s setting or subject matter led a child to try that title and then they got hooked on the entire series!”Things aren’t slowing down for the GERONIMO STILTON franchise either. The property celebrates its tenth year this year and parent company Atlantyca Entertainment has big plans for the anniversary. Key events will include a summer reading program with chapter book publisher Scholastic, a promotion with Kellogg’s that will place the characters on 90 million cereal boxes, and, of course, more GERONIMO STILTON and THEA STILTON graphic novels from Papercutz.

“We congratulate Papercutz on the outstanding success they have had with their GERONIMO STILTON series of comic books,” noted Atlantyca Entertainment CEO, Claudia Mazzucco. “It is a delight to see the popularity these books have garnered so quickly and to have new readers, a whole new genre of fans, open their hearts to Geronimo Stilton and all of his friends.  We are thrilled with our partnership with Papercutz and look forward to our continued work together.”
Geronimo Stilton #14: The First Mouse on the Moon

Papercutz will publish their 14th GERONIMO STILTON graphic novel “The First Mouse on the Moon” this June, just in time for the 45th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing featured in the story. Their 4th THEA STILTON title, “Catching the Giant Wave” is set to follow in late September. And with all of time and space to travel in, don’t expect GERONIMO (or GERONIMO sales) to slow down any time soon. “We’ve got a magical mix of great characters, great content and great partners here”, noted Nantier. “So we’re planning to keep going for as long as there are GERONIMO stories to tell!”

GERONIMO STILTON: The First Mouse on the Moon will be available in bookstores and comicbook stores on June 24th. To find a comic shop near you go to or dial 1-888-COMIC BOOK.
