FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 4, 2012
New York, NY — Comic-Con International in San Diego, the premiere pop culture event in the country, has a long tradition of highlighting children’s entertainment on its final day. This year, Papercutz has announced a full schedule of show exclusives, sales, and just plain fun for the show’s youngest attendees at Booth #2546, all day on July 15, 2012.
“As our entire line is dedicated to comics for kids, we try to make sure our convention plans reflect our commitment to the next generation of comics fans,” said Papercutz Publisher Terry Nantier. “Kids Day at San Diego is one of the biggest children’s comics events of the year, so it makes sense to turn our booth into a destination for families on Sunday.”
Kids Day at Booth #2546 begins right at 10:00 with an hour-long free sketch session with LEGO® NINJAGO artist Jolyon Yates, leading into another at 1:00 with the legendary Stan Goldberg, artist on THE THREE STOOGES and the upcoming NANCY DREW AND THE CLUE CREW. Both affable artists will be taking requests from their many young fans and sending them home with a special keepsake.
Papercutz will be giving away a convention-exclusive ashcan edition of NANCY DREW AND THE CLUE CREW #1: “Small Volcanoes” for Goldberg to sign, as well as a limited edition LEGO Ninjago print by Yates.
POWER RANGERS SUPER SAMURAI #1: “Memory Short,” the first-ever Power Rangers graphic novel, is also premiering at the show in advance of its wide-release pub date on July 17, 2012. Papercutz will be hosting special surprise appearances by the Power Rangers throughout the weekend.
The Papercutz Kids Day Sale, running all day, will be a special buy-one-get-one-half-off promotion on their entire line of all-ages graphic novels.
“At Papercutz, we all grew up loving comics,” said Papercutz Editor-In-Chief Jim Salicrup. “There’s nothing better for us than to set aside a special place for kids to enjoy books made just for them at the biggest comics event of the year.”
Popular with reluctant readers and gifted readers alike, Papercutz graphic novels for kids, tweens, and teens include a wide range of genres, including humor, action adventure, mystery, horror, and favorite characters. Papercutz hits include THE SMURFS, LEGO® NINJAGO, POWER RANGERS, NANCY DREW, and more. Papercutz is proud to be the only publisher exclusively dedicated to children’s graphic novels.
