ATTN COMICS PROS! Vote for Jessica Abel and TRISH TRASH in This Year’s Eisners!

Last month, we were delighted to share with you that Jessica Abel’s TRISH TRASH: ROLLERGIRL OF MARS had been nominated for two Eisner Awards, including Best Writer/Artist and Best Publication for Teens! Now we’d like to encourage all eligible voters to vote for Jessica and her wonderful book!

If you aren’t familiar with the Eisner Awards, they’re widely considered to be the “Oscars of the comic book industry.” For years the Eisners has recognized and celebrated the best books and creators in comics, everything from Marvel and DC to indie presses.

And if you aren’t familiar with TRISH TRASH–well, then what are you waiting for? Part dystopian science fiction, part rollicking roller derby adventure story, TRISH TRASH: ROLLERGIRL OF MARS is a compelling tale of a young working class girl who feels trapped by the circumstances of her birth and economic situation. It’s also an incredibly vital book for our current political and cultural moment. At a time when women, the working class, and people of color are in the eye of the storm, TRISH TRASH is as important as ever. But even beyond its political implications, TRISH TRASH is just a flat-out exhilarating book about a girl who kicks all kinds of butt!

FYI, the following working comics industry professionals are eligible to vote in the Eisner Awards:

  • Comic book/graphic novel/webcomic creators (writers, artists, cartoonists, pencilers, inkers, letterers, colorists)
  • All nominees in any category
  • Comic book/graphic novel publishers and editors
  • Comics historians and educators
  • Graphic novel librarians
  • Owners and managers of comic book specialty retail stores

The deadline for voting is June 16, 2017. For more information and to cast your vote, please click here.
